Gavin Jones
Originally from Albany, I commenced my professional career in 1986 with Ernst & Whinney – Albany, gaining experience in Audit, Taxation and Business Services.

Moving to Perth in February 1989, I completed my University studies before accepting a position with Bentleys Chartered Accounts (now BDO Kendalls) in their Business Services division later that year. Over the next 7 years, in addition to the ongoing small business client services, I was offered other opportunities including investigative accountant for the WA Inc. Royal Commission, financial reporting for public companies and specialist tax research and advising. In 1991, I completed further studies to qualify as a Chartered Accountant.

After a number of years as a Tax and Business Services Manager at BDO, my new challenge was to commence practice on my own. In April 1996, I took over E W Brunner & Co., a small Practice which quickly grew, providing Financial, Taxation and Business Development services to a growing and diversified range of clients.

My qualifications include Bachelor of Business (Curtin University), Chartered Accountant, Registered Tax Agent and a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia.

Debbie Jones
Originally from Penang, Malaysia, I came to Perth in 1983 completing my TAE at Tuart College. After graduating from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, I commenced with the Australian Taxation Office in a variety of areas including audit, advising, the taxpayer enquiry centre before finishing at the Tax Agent Service Centre. During my 4 years there, I completed a Graduate Diploma in Advanced Taxation with the University of New South Wales.

In 1994, I began work with BDO Nelson Parkhill (now BDO Kendalls) in their tax and business services section. This career move enabled me to experience tax and accounting from the clients perspective and in a commercial world.

In 1995 I moved to Loveland & Associates in order to develop more direct client contact and taking on more responsibility for my clients. During my time there, I have formed close, long lasting, working relationships with my clients.

In 1999 I joined Gavin at E W Brunner & Co.

I am a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA), a member of, the National Tax & Accountants Association (NTAA) and a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia.
